One of Linda Ronstadt s Best - This album is by far one of Linda Ronstadt s best. I had bought the cassette back in 1975 and wore it out. Was glad to see it on CD. It was good to hear the songs again. Good songs that will move you.
Still the best female singer that ever was - Her version of I Will Always Love You is miles aheadof Whitney Houston s, which is over-sung, shrill, and grating by comparison. There s been a recent blast of hub bub about Annie Lennox doing a version of Many Rivers To Cross. Again, she s no match for Ronstadt s version on this album.Cap it off with a couple of great radio-ready hits, and some excellent ballads and superb female/male delicate duets like Prisoner In Disguise and you ll be hard pressed to find a better country rock album anywhere.
More covers - great album - Ronstadt always picks great cover songs to sprinkle in along with originals and this album does not disappoint.
The sweetest gift - I bought this CD for the duet with Emmie Lou Harris of The Sweetest Gift and they do a very good job.
Great, Varied CD - I ve always enjoyed Linda s music (I grew up listening to it), but this is my first studio CD purchase of hers. I really enjoy it alot, lots of different styles. You Tell me that I m Falling Down is wonderful, and I think this is the only place to get it.As for the sound, even though the packaging reads AAD, the disc itself has the HDCD seal, the sound is loud and full with no hiss. Sometimes I think they don t redo the packaging to save money, which can be confusing to those waiting for the remastered version. I ve discovered on older titles it s best to buy new, so you are guaranteed the most up to date pressing.Well, enjoy. I m glad that Linda is still recording and stepping into new genres.
