Perpetuum wunderbar - I don t actually speak German, you can probably tell. I don t have to.There are translations of all the songs on this album in the liner notes, and one of these days, when I get around to it, I will actually sit down with them again. They re worth it, they re poetry -- self-effacing, adamant, introspective, occasionally hilarious. EN is known for its choices in instruments, and this album is no different. You ve got to love a band that s been known to tell you who s playing linden leaves, or steel pipes. Does the rhythm drive the music, or the words? I still don t know, and I don t care. What I know is this album s addictive and beautiful. (Notice, please, I didn t say easy.) I ll keep playing it while I ride my exercycle, and using it instead of energy drinks to get me through the long, hot Texas summer. If I knew how to say thank you in German . . . I d say it.

Perpetuum Mobile - Einstürzende Neubauten are a band that have now existed for 26 years and they are the only band I know that has gone through all kinds of phases without ever becoming mediocre....I love this record especially - I have listened to it so often it is difficult to put my feeling to writing but the lyrics and music describe movement, freedom of thought, individuality, air, traveling through time, dead friends and lost birds in way no one else could have done as well! And one more thing - the more you listen to it the more special it becomes -in comparison to a lot of other records I have listened to in my life!

Let s be Adults - I m giving it four stars because I m a fan, and this album is really for fans. Fans will love it for sure, but Neubauten have become adults now, they ve settled down, and gone are the apocalyptic deconstructions that made up Kollaps and Halber Mensch, and totally revolutionized and re-defined the concept pop music, replaced here with a progressive, sophisticated, defined and well rehearsed sound. Excellent mixing and production make this for a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience, but I can t help but feel a little disappointed that Neubauten albums no longer turn my world upside down like they used to. As great as it is, it doesn t inspire and energize like did Strategien Gegen Architekturen I & II. But I was a teenager back then, and I guess I ve become adult too.Notwithstanding, if I were 19 now I don t see this album changing my world.

Perpetual Coolness - Wow! I have been a fan of Neubauten for some time, and I must say, I really love this album. The songwriting is powerful, continuing the tradition of Tabula Rasa, though the production is darker and cleaner-- a definite bonus. There is more moodiness to the music and to the lyrics, but this works so well with Blixa s voice and the combination of traditional and innovative sounds and instruments.People may say that Neubauten are not who they were or that they are getting old. I honestly feel that what I am hearing here is better. By expertly blending more traditional elements with signature metal sounds and other effects, somehow the band brings out the wonder in both.I might add that tracks 7 and 8 were my favorites. No one has mentioned them much, but right when I was beginning to get comfortable, they reawakened my senses in a really cool way.

Yawn! - I was told about his band that they made some of the most brutal industrial music ever...nothing could be further from the truth with this album. This isn t industrial, it s just ambient, boring elevator music. Maybe I just got the wrong album, hopefully this is their quiet album, like when the Melvins did that one crappy snoozefest Bootlicker, but their other albums were sick.
